Also, if you're looking for materials suggestions, Warbonnet has a handy-dandy comfort vs. occupant weight vs. fabric weight guide located here.
If you want to make a double-layer hammock, DIY Gear Supply has very easy-to understand instructions located here. There are also guides for bug nets, and a couple other things located in the parent directory.
Or, check out the stickies at the top of this forum; several of them pertain to making your own hammock.
Hope it goes well!
I just ordered a bunch of material. What is the normal width on a hammock. I am looking to make a longer one than my eno but i know the fabric i bought is narrower than my DN eno.
Most fabrics are 60" to 64" acrossed, leaving about 58" to 62" of with.
Just remember..the longer the hammock, the longer the tarp.
Most stock fabric is 50-64"+ wide, (it varies) Most sites will list width, if they don't, ask before buying. Some sites may try to sell you narrower fabric at big width prices.
Well got all my material in now waiting on sewing machine.
Does anyone know or have any patterns for a bishop bag? Whoopie slings are done.
