I used olive oil to remove pine resin from mine then washed them with fairy liquid.
Instead of starting an New thread, I've got a little blob on my sleeping bag, anyone know how I can get that out without damaging the insulation or fabric.

Denatured alcohol or rubbing alcohol.
I get the stuff on my hands as well as the straps when I'm setting up. I always have a bottle of hand sanitizer with me and that gets the stuff off, so it would work on your sleeping bag too I would think.

Use olive oil
If you're not in a hurry, I'd try actually freezing the tree straps and saving the sap if possible.
I haven't tried this, only just thought of it, but tree sap (especially coniferous trees) is pretty good for fires (IE: fat lighter).

Wood worker stores sell stuff to remove pitch from saw blades, it might work. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...2&site=ROCKLER
I'd test a small section on the end though (if it wrecks it cut off the end).
