    Question Bottom Entry

I was sold on buying a HH UL Backpacker A-sym, but just read a review on another site that has me wondering. The reviewer mentioned that he was continuously snagging his synthetic hiking clothing on the the velcro strip along the bottom entry of the hammock. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a HH UL Backpacker and have never had that problem. I've heard of it happening, but it must be rare.

Great information. I'll be spending some time checking it out. Thanks.

I've never had it happen. I don't think anything I wear in the woods will snag on velcro. Not even my Coolmax socks.

However, I've bought a couple of shirts at Wally World that would. They're polyester, airy, very comfortable, but they snag on *everything* and wind up looking terrible in no time. The two I bought last summer were ruined before fall; I won't get anymore like them.

So maybe it's a question of wearing clothing unsuitable for the task?

I've never had a problem with anything snagging on the Hennessy's velcro closure.

well, these are two of the few "flaws" involving the entrance's Velcro I found since the first day i hoped on my hennessy: 1. the harsh velcro side of the entrance (the one facing towards the floor) gets caught on to fury/fluffy things, including my hair; 2. that same side when exiting or entering the hmmock, can scratch your legs (if wearing shorts) or feet, but I avoid this easily by folding the black seam so the harsh velcro side ends against the hammock, but i sometimes forget and it can be a bit painfull. None of my clothes have been damaged by the velcro, its only been a comfort issue.
Still i love my hh, just have to be patient.

I have a nylon or polyester wind shirt that is bomber proof in strong winds but not if it gets snagged or ripped. Guess I'll have to take it off b4 getting in the HH. What about the covering for your quilt or sleeping bag? Will that material snag on the velcro strip?

Something was snagging on my ULB's velcro on the last trip & if I remember correctly, it was the drawstrings at the ends of my JRB quilts. It wasn't a big deal, but I seemed to always have either the strings on the underquilt coming in or the strings on the inner quilt hanging out. Again, it was negligible & had I forgotten about it until I read this thread.
