I hung up one of the 12x12 I got to look at modifying like this, and when I laid in my 12 foot lounger hammock underneath it the hammock webbing suspension was rubbing on the tarp. In other words, I'm used to hammock webbing clearing my WB BMJ as it ascends to the tree and ties off above the tarp ridgeline. However, the tarp extends far enough out that it hits the webbing as it ascends. It was the same on both ends (e.g. not off-center) and I think it would be worse with a shorter hammock. I also had the tarp pitched fairly high up off the hammock.
Is this problem common with tarps that are hung on a diagonal, or am I doing something wrong? It makes me think about cutting off some of the corners and re-angling/catting the sides or something.
Edit: pictures attached, I think (woot, first time posting pics). It's sort of dark on the deck, but the first picture is with no load in the hammock and the last two are with a full propane tank in the hammock for weight. When I get in, my weight pulls it even tighter and rubs on the tarp.
