Name this Prusik (from Hennessy tarp "doohickey")

So Tom calls them "doohickeys" but they're tarp attachment prusiks. I noticed it's basically 2 turns worth of prusik knot but then the working ends are wrapped around the middle. This doesn't seem like it adds anything meaningful to the knot -- does it just help keep the loop/hardware from slipping through and getting lost?

I've searched hf.net as well as the web and can't find this Prusik derivation.

    Thanks!

The pic is correct to how HH does there prusics. There is an extra twist in how they do it and functionally I have seen no good reason for it other than it may help to keep the prusics from coming loose when not under tension. I have tied them both the norman and this modified way and can't tell any functional difference in them.

Cool, that was pretty much my thinking, but if there was another method (with advantages) I wanted to add it to the toolkit.

One reason I like learning knots is because they're like free toys. It costs nothing if the grass is greener and a better knot comes along. Free upgrades for life .

Plus you get to learn the infrequent ones over and over again, so you get like quadruple your money's worth.
