WB Superfly + Dutch Gear = options?

I am looking for the best overall way to handle my Superfly given that I have the following items in my possession:

2 Dutch tarp flyz
2 Dutch hooks
A spool of Zing-It
20' of 1" webbing
Lightweight carabiners

and a little spare time

My thought is this:

Create a locked brummel loop in some Zing-It, loop through the Superfly ring, and end on a Tarp Flyz. This gives me an easy no knot setup and seems to follow the Warbonnet videos.

I've gone though multiple approaches to my tarp in my head but this seems to be the cleanest and quickest to setup. It's so straightforward that I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Also, if I go with that then I can't integrate my really cool Dutch hooks and I just HAVE to do something with them

Thoughts?

Oh, FWIW I did my first attempt at splicing last night and I was able to do a decent locked brummel in Zing-It with some guitar string, so I guess I could do that two more times without too much trouble.

Hiya Brian,

I have a continuous ridge line set up with my Superfly using a Dutch hook at one end and a tarp flyz at the other. It's 10 metres / 33ft long and uses a pair of nacrabiner prussiks to hang the superfly.

Works for me...

That gives me another method to look into. I guess the advantage there would be the ability to center the tarp since you have the continuous ridge line?

Yep - you can move the tarp as you want over the length of the ridge. To be honest, I use it as that's what I've always used.

I always think that it takes a bit of pressure off the tarp as well, rather than the two end method which pulls the tarp taut between the two attachment points.

I use the exact same as Raskusdrotti. It's quick and easy to deploy and to put away.

i have 3 set ups using the items you have , the continuous ridgeline as mentioned above...

the other 2 go like this. - and use 2 separate lines

dutch hooks to make the zing it connection at the tree- line running down toward the tarp, and connected/adjusted via a prussik loop.

the other uses your initial method, line connected to the tarp -but my flyz are on a prussik loop, and serve more for connection, while the prussik does most of the fine adjustment.
a key is to hang the tarp ridgelines a little loose, so that the corner guy outs finish the tensioning.

I use this set up. The onley diffrence is that I also have the tarp flyz on a prussik as well. It makes for a whole lot of set up options.

Does anyone have a picture of the tarp flyz on a prusik? I'm having a tough time visualizing that.
