My Lab Boarder Collie mix is too big to sleep with me, though he sleeps on a pad just under me. One night on AT in NJ, He heard things and stood watch the whole night. It was just amazing to see him there protecting his family! in real life he is a chicken S@#$, but he really shines when he thinks he needs to be. BTW-lab boarder collie mix so highly intelligent.

I hike with my 50# Golden-Doddle (golden retriever and poodle). She sleeps on a section of a yoga mat that my wife let me have under my hamnock. If she gets cold she will climb up into the hammock with me and sleep at the foot of the hammock.

I would like to have my dog sleep with me but he is a tad bit big!

Just turned a year and is about 80 - 90 lbs. Never stops moving!

He has a piece of ccf pad and a small fleece blanket for a bed under my hammock. I do not worry about critters!

I took my dog, an ELO, with me for my first hammock night in the forest. She wasn't too sure about hammocks and tarps and didn't want to stay on the pad. She's only 1 year old and I didn't want to attach her to a tree, so I attached her to a whoopie, like this I could feel when she's restless. She was quiet most of the night, but she must have remained awake, because she spend the following afternoon and night sleeping.

My rat terrier crawls to the bottom of my sleeping bag and keeps my feet warm. She is a terrier though so likes to bark at strange noises.
