    Fastest suspension

What is the fastest suspension to put on your hammock? The reason I am asking is I love my Blackbird 1.0 dbl just don't like the suspension all that much. if I can't find something I like I may have switch to a bivy which I really don't want to do. but I used it during hunting season this year and realized the suspension is not ideal for what I need.

Are you looking for the fastest to attach to the hammock or to attach to the trees?

The suspension normally stays attached full time to the hammock so most folks may only change it once initially. Most suspensions only take a minute or two to set up on the trees. Curious what's taking so much time???

I use the stock adjustable straps on my BB with Dutch Clips. Very easy and very fast.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Might help if you told us what suspension you have as there are two different suspensions that are available on the Blackbird. Also,we need to know what it is you don't like about the suspension.

As Number 5 would say, "Need Input!"

The fastest would probably be a length of webbing with a quick connect (dutch clip or carabiner) at one end and passed through a pair of descender rings tied to the hammock.

Get to the site, wrap the webbing and quick connect it in place around a tree, repeat on the other end, then yank on the bitter end of the two straps to the appropriate tension and you're done.

When you're done, let out the webbing to full length, unclip and stuff.

This does beg the question... Why are you looking to speed up hammock hanging and how fast do you really need it to be?

it is not really the set-up it is more the take down in the early morning doing a back country hunt. the least amount of noise and and easy take down makes my morning easier in the dark.

check out my latest video I have posted .. I use Dutch's clips with the whoopies through the eye sewn shut .. no toggles.. no breaks in the suspension .. used it 16 days in a row .. other then a hammock I have thats's nothing but straps through the gathered end in which I tie a bowline .. the former is still the faster .. unless I tie the bowline in the right spot times 2 ..

I'd think since you already have the adjustable webbing, just add a pair of Dutch Clips and you'd be set, or if you prefer a pair of climbing rated biners.

Yep, Dutch clip or carabiner to connect the strap back to itself and you never remove the straps from the hammock.
