yep, I realised my error but forgot to edit. I've ordered a hook and a flyz for my tarp line and have the prussiks from my HH to keep the tarp movable and taut. Looking forward to setting it up in the woods in 2 days time!Originally Posted by DemostiX

Yes. I'm respecting your wish for one easy disconnect at each end. You have it --safely -- with the right hook, or a carabiner (or too-much-derided screw-tight industrial closed loop).
Yes, a long softie / soft shackle could replace the loop you've run through the hammock channel. I have done that, but only for a kit where I am saving weight do I not find the fuss of undoing the the shackle a little tedious. The undoubted thing about gated carabiners of good design and execution is that they feel good in use. Which is a silly reason to add 2oz to the kit.....but also a tag line of one HF member.
Ah... That does make sense. I guess a super easy way is to larks head the whoopie to the hugger and biner the fixed loop of the whoopie to the continuous loop installed at the hammock end? (I just read that to my mates and got a very concerned look - philistines!).
