Hello and Welcome! Diygearsupply.com has a tutorial sheet on whoopie slings you may want to look at. Even look up threads by forum member Opie who has some great tutorials. I tend to us SS leader wire (BassPro) about 24 guage but many use the wire in network/cat 5 cable or the E string on a guitar (thin string) or floral wire. Good luck!

    DynaGlide

Thanks I have looked at both of them and made whoppies but not with Dynaglide. I have heard of people using guitar strings but how do I use them to splice?

I have not done dynaglide but I used "piano wire" from my local Ace hardware to make a tool for spicing 7/64. Comes in a variety of gauges and is stiffer than a guitar string.

I used a piece of doubled over floral wire to splice some braided mason's line. If you can do it with mason's line, you can do it with anything. What specifically are you having trouble with?

    DynaGlide

Thanks again for the help. Do I just bend the wire in half and run it through the Dynaglide or how does it work. Sorry for so many questions I just dont understand the concept.

To be more clear, I do not understand how the end of the tail of the burry is grab. Does is it just held by pressure?

Maybe you used a different method with the amsteel. I folded the wire over in half (between 12 and 18 inches folded) and use that as the splicing tool. You thread through and trap the cord in the folded eye pulling it back through your original threaded area.

Yes, it works exactly as dragon360 described. As you pull the wire back through, the wire will tighten on the dynaglide or whatever. I have used this method on 1/8" Amsteel down to mason's line, which is about as thick as a pencil lead. I used the same wire for both. Feel free to ask questions, if this is not clear enough.
