I can be an impulsive idiot!

So I decided to get a hammock about a month ago, but then quickly cancelled my order in fear of getting in over my head with hammock gear and ditching tent I'm so accustomed to. But a few weeks later I finally bought a WBBB and Superfly. Soon after setting up, I got a bit frustrated and instead of working thru the setup I sold the kit. Man, I can be an idiot sometimes! Thankfully I didn't lose much money.

After a recent trip in my tent, I still had a terrible itch I couldn't scratch the whole time...the darn hammock! Now I'm wishing I didn't sell the thing.

I feel like a complete failure now ...but I'm thinking about getting back into this. I'm sure glad for this forum and all the motivation to help me get it right this time. I think I'll go with a BMJ tarp instead to keep it a bit simpler, maybe even an Edge tarp.

Anyway, I hope to be posting some "first hang" pics in the near future if I give it another try.

    Hey, keep it up.

I remember my first time in a hammock I wasnt shure how if I really liked it. I too was thinking about getting rid of it. But then I found this forum. After reading, asking, and learning, I have come to be very fond of my hammock. I don't believe its possible to spend more than a day here before getting overwhelmed with gear though.

Dont give up now, give it another try. I guarentee you will find some techniques on here that will make your set up much easier.

Keep your head up, and dont get discourage, every sport I tried I seem to be good at naturally, however this hobby/sport is a huge learning curve for alot of people. Take your time with implusive buys, and I'm thankful for this forum as well. Hike on my friend, and enjoy the outdoors no matter what you choose.

LOL! Well, while you guys were responding I made another trip to Warbonnet and Hammockgear. Got the following coming:

    - WBBB 1.1DL
    - BMJ tarp
    - HG 40* +2oz overfill

Stuff gets expensive! I'll be getting married in 2 months, and other friends have told me to "get your toys now" because it won't fly later. I never believed that, but I see where they're coming from. Is that mean?

I'm going to use my Marmot 30* Never Winter bag for a TQ on my first hang depending on the weather.

Plus this time, I'm not going to be in a mad rush and won't be using paracord! I think that contributed to my frustration
