Strapworks is the way to go. They have several different type of strap material, talk with the good folks there to determine your needs.
Its a proven fact that 78.4% of all statstics are made up on the spot.

I've used them several times and they are very good.
If you only need the loop on one end, I would suggest ordering the 1" Polyester, 18ft long with 2" sewn loops. You can then cut it in half and use a flame to seal the ends. Ordering a slightly longer strap will also give you the option of cutting it down later, if you find that you prefer shorter straps.

There are several great vendors around here (including Papasmurf).

I got straps from here: http://arrowheadequipment.webs.com/apps/webstore/

I paid to have the first foot on each end doubled over, so that I had loops on both ends. I sometimes just wrap the straps around a tree a couple of times & then put the other loop though the first one. I put up a biner with whoopie to adjust the hang.

If you have straps made, I'd suggest that you get a short one (say 10' with both ends doubled over would leave about a 9' strap) and then a long one (say 18' with both ends doubled over (leaving a 17' strap) for those larger trees that you might come across.

well i've yet to do much hanging on trails where there are big trees. it's mostly on my patio(4x4 posts) or some of the local parks. and the trees there aren't to big. i was thinking of getting the 8ft strap.....but maybe a 10ft would be a better idea just in case?

I've used both and other then the smoothness, can't really think of a reason to use one over the other. I'd just get the regular polyester. Also, I see they're out of stock on the Black, 1" seatbelt webbing.
Perhaps I'm missing something and someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
