Have you ever been hasselled by park rangers?

Have you ever have park rangers make you take your hammock down? Perhaps because it "damages trees" or because of some safety regulation? I'm just curious.

I have never been hasselled for it, but I have been questioned about it hurting the trees. I showed them the webbing and even untied it to shew them that it didn't hurt anything and they were cool about it, they actually thought it was a neat idea (go figure ). I have heard of places making people take down their hammocks though because of those reasons.

Had a ranger wake me up once, but he was just checking to see if I had a permit.

pavins and bass river state parks (NJ). had to hang my tarp with webbing , not rope. (hammock had webbing) said i set a bad example to the other campers with their cloth lines and blue tarps. they were nice about it. ( had extra tie downs straps in truck) other campers were pointing at my sight saying he has ropes on trees (mason line).

in the winter, same rangers, no problems
