So a friend talked to the president of the Indianhead chapter of the IAT and there are no places where a large group can camp legitimatly in that section. The way he talked, it sounded like there are no areas except state or national forest areas that you can camp a large group.

Now with that said there is a what looks to be a large state forest just east of Hwy 35 to Hwy 40. If we went for two days one night, we could plan a route that started before that and stop anywhere in the forest for the night no matter how large the group.

Otherwise I'm kind of out of ideas for the IAT. Let me know what everyone thinks.

If someone has any ideas about a route let me know otherwise we could start looking back at the NCT. There are still a lot of places there we haven't hiked yet.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Looked at getting the atlas and companion, but for over 60 dollars for a one time thing probably not.

Why don't we stick to the NCT instead of the IAT because of the circumstances.

Is this going to be a hike and hang or a car camping trip. I personally like the 10 + mile hike and hangs. But, others may feel different. I am up for whatever you guys decide, I just want to wake up in the woods.

I am looking at a hike-n-hang. Ten miles a day, give or take, seems to be doable for everyone that has come in the past.

I'll wait a couple days to see what everyone else's opinion is, but i already have a track in mind on the NCT if we go that route.

The other option is if any one has more info on the IAT and wants to plan a route that would be fine. Just let me know.

I haven't had time to call the IAT office, sorry guys. I guess my vote if for something else. I would prefer a hike and hang myself, but will go regardless.

Hike and hang. NCT. Looks like IAT would be more adept to solo stealth hiking.

Anywhere between Solon Springs and Drummond. Most if not all is either State forest or County forest with some National forest and camping is permitted. Depending on where we decide I just have to get a permit.

My thought is meet on Friday, depending on time either camp or hike a bit then camp. Continue hiking Saturday, set up camp. Then finish hiking to cars on Sunday at a set location. Thoughts?

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Keep it shorter for the first and 3rd day (under 5 miles) and then get in the bigger one on Saturday.

What we did on the fall hang for people who didn't want to hike that long was to just suggest a starting point that is a shorter hike.

It seems like the majority of the vote is for the weekend of June 6th. Is it safe to say that that will be when the hang is?
