Has been one year that I have been hammocking and I guess I was one of the lucky ones in that my first nite in a hammock was pure bliss. HH was where I began the journey and have progressed to making my own gear and am now an everynite sleeping in a hammock guy. I have shoulder problems that make sleeping anywhere else so far less comfy that I have given up on even trying.

I live on the "wet coast" of Canada and have four season camped in all conditions and temps and have so far kept dry, warm and pain free. I know what is meant by the "learning curve" as to what works and what dosen't and have now found what works for me. Many thanks to all who have helped here in this forum even thou for the most part they don't know how much they did. Truly a wealth of ideas and information. Have converted a few to hammocking and as there is no shrotage of trees here in the temperate rain forest that I live in, there is room for many more.

And on that note, I will finish packing my gear and head to the river for a bit more green therapy. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh blissssssssss
What I lack in knowledge I MORE than make up for with opinions.

My son and I also had good nights for our first time out.

Clearly this was due to the helpful members of this site. Thanks to you all.

Welcome to the forum. Yes that would be a cool shirt for sure.
Then again I dont want anyone to think I'm a left wing tree hugger.

Thanks for the welcome. Long time lurker....I attempted a thru of the Colorado Trail this summer, made about 100 miles and now am trying to lighten my pack. Used an SPE with mixed results! Have been reading up on the HH Super Shelter. I put shock cord in a long sil poncho for use as an undercover. Do you think the SS pad would work with that drawn up instead of HH's undercover?

I also used the poncho as an extension on my tarp at one end but the one night it rained hard and blew I just used the stock tarp with no problems, but I sure thought I would. Funny thing is I held the ends up and out and that gave better coverage than pulling it down.

Yeah not an issue for 2 people in a hammock as long as it is made right and you want to sleep close.

One a side note I am planning on getting a tent for those beach trips.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

You should post this question in a separate thread to get a better response.
