I scouted around for some trees
The trees were all buzzing with bees
I tied the first strap
Fell under attack
Now my eyes are as big as my knees

Very nice, but is it clean? Double bonus I guess.
Apparently, there'd been a flood,
Our campsite was all covered with mud,
We stayed dry above ground,
The only hammocks around,
But the skeeters were all out for blood!
"Can't we all just live in trees and hammocks?"
-- Sam Gribley, My Side of the Mountain
I hung nicely between two trees.
Swaying peacefully in the breeze.
Feeling pleasant as you please
Then all the sudden there was a sneeze.
I found I wasn’t alone
Some tenters invaded my zone,
Then I heard someone on the phone.
My hanging place is now well known.
So, hanging here is done
But found a new place to have fun
Leafy trees providing shade from the sun
Now comfy sleep can finally be won.
The breeze makes my hammock sway
I’m getting away from the hustle and fray
So, what more is there to say
Have a truly wonderful hammock day.

Perhaps we should rename this thread in Hammock Poetry and make it sticky!

There are very few problems we can solve ourselves, but there is almost nothing we cannot solve together.
Most often when someone says they can't, they are unwilling to try.
FWIW, we have a haiku thread in the off-topic section. It's as much about 'being out' as hammocks, hence off-topic.
