It is a bit confusing. I was just talking with my camping buddy. His reading is that about half the LSHT is closed and subject to fine. But then some of what might be open, is road walking and such.
He and I were talking Big Bend, Guadalupe, or Buffalo River float. I've not done any. He's thinking hammocking at any, probably not a problem. Any one know different?
I'm leaning towards Buffalo River.

I did an over night a few weekends ago on section 9, primitive campsite #1.
Gathering wood just after dark, I heard the dreaded sound, probably 50-75 yards away, the crackling sound of a big'ol pine crashing down. The thud seemed to shake the ground where I was standing.
Though I thoroughly check my choice of camp site for the night for widow makers, leaners and what nots, it makes ya a little uneasy feeling.
Glad to know they're taking the cautions they are. Sad it's the west side, as thats the closest to me. :/
