    My DIY Gathered End Hammock

Well I finally finished them. First attempt at this and I am sure it won't measure up to what you guys have made. The double feels very strong I must say. I am going to add shock cord tie outs to both sides. Any advise is welcome. Thanks all!

They look like you've been doing this forever!
I've made a few hammocks and learned something new with each one. Not done yet.

Nicely done. Like the color and the craftsmanship.

Sweet...good to see the very nice end results. You did a great job on all of it.

Did you leave an opening in the side of the double to slip a pad in (if you wanted to)?

The side hems don't take much stress. A single row of stitching will do the job and save you some time on the next one...................................yes, there will be a next one.

Thanks my friend! I did not leave an opening between the layers, thinking that I have an underquilt but I don't know if that is valid thinking or not..... Not enough experience yet.

Thanks for the advice, I thought there would be much more stress on the side hems, now I see there is not so lesson learned.

You are right! I have already said, "on the next one I will _______"
