Hanging a hammock temporarily without trees

In June I'll be attending a music festival for four days and I was just thinking about how much more comfortable I would be sleeping in my hammock than in a tent. I couldn't find a thread on it, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to set up a temporary hammock hang without trees and without too much hassle.

You need to look at the DIY stands. I like the Turtle Lady stand. Can be made in 30 minutes and all you need is six legs and a ridge pole.

If you have a pick up truck you can probably use part of that for one support. If you can get close to an object for a second one that solves it.

If you had to guess Sgt, what kind of weight would this hold? I'd like to do something similiar but until I get busy losing weight again, I'm around 275#.

I use two swingset hooks in the rafters in my basement! You still get your 30 degree angle and you can go as far apart as you want! I hope this helps!

There are some metal stands available that are not too much of a pain in the butt to take apart and put together. They are heavy so you'd have to be near your car. A benefit to a portable stand is you do not have to stake any lines.
I have seen some set ups using poles of some kind, one on each end of the hammock but these require solid stakes and good guying out of the lines. IIRC someone once posted a pic of two crutches (the kind you use when you have a broken leg) being used.
You could make tripods on each end like the Turtlelady's bamboo stand mentioned above.

At a festy you might be able to set up between suv's. I do it with my jeep. Its a low hang...tricky to dial.in with an UQ. Youll have to have around 12' . Or a stand under an easy up would be premium!

HOI has one like this which is where I got most of my ideas, and I'd guess he weighs about #275, or rather he did when he first started playing with it. He has dropped a bunch of weight lately.
