    I did this at a bluegrass festival.....used one tree but can do it all with big stakes.

    I did a variation of the turtle lady stand with metal conduit and lashing as seen here ... it could easily use 5' poles and thereby only use 3 10' pieces of conduit instead of my 6. That would make it both cheaper and easier to pack. My 10' poles are still pretty easy to deal with.

    This is the portable stand that I use for when trees are not an option (usually scouting events where I am unable to choose my location). I believe it is the basis for Sgt Rocks stand he mentioned. May times I will use a single pole when a tree or other structure is available to hold one end.
