Hello everyone.

I am fairly new to hammock camping, in fact, all I have is one night out in my yard, and a three day Hike in Shenandoah this last weekend under my belt. *I originally made a DIY from the pattern on Just Jeff's page and loved it. I shorted myself about a foot of fabric though and wanted make another one. Since NONE of the fabric stores near me carried 1.9oz ripstop, I had to order it online (almost $60). Also, $20 from West Marine in rigging, $18 from Home Depot for webbing cinch straps to sacrifice to make my tree huggers, and not to include the cost of a rain fly and bug net, the cost was adding up quickly. I went to the Hennessy website and a new asym was $210 for everything and they where running a special for a free kids hammock included with all purchases (that sealed it.).

And here we go....

Welcome; from Ohio!! At least your getting out and experimenting. Even in the yard, it counts. Also glad to see you have a kid's hammock coming. Camping with your child will have lasting memories.

Welcome from the Jersey Shore. When I first got into hammocking, my head started to explode from all the research. I finally just got off the ground with a Hennessy Expedition. It's a great starter hammock.
