I think I like the design, but one thing bothers me. Does the bottom really seal up such that bugs can't sneak their way in?

I toss and turn during the night. Plus I use a partial UQ. All this has me thinking that there are a lot of obstacles challenging a tight seal. I live in Florida where bug protection isn't an option. So, I'm looking for some confirmation before making this my next project.
