I think I have some canvas sheets somewhere and I have a massive amount of paracord (I make dog collars, bracelets and other stuff to sell with it (I have a bit of an obsession with paracord to be honest!)), wonder if that would do it?
Nice to see I am not the only one from across the pond.
A warm welcome from across the other pond.

And a big Hello from Warwick (Uk that is). You could try pointnorth.co.uk for fabrics, the pertex and ripstop nylon are reasonably priced and can be had in widths around 1.5m. Or try etremtextil.de from Germany. As another option you could massacre an old tent, if you have one, I'm planning on doing that for the material for an underquilt. Anyway happy hanging!
Well, impatience got the better of me so I went ahead and decided to make something today.
I found a a small piece of fabric and a willing victim to test it for me.
Not big enough for me but about right for this little one.
Went to find some paracord for whipping and a crude suspension system and got knotting.
It looks a little small on the ground but seems fine once suspended.
Any thoughts?

welcome from another new hanger in Atlantic Canada
Can anybody see my images? I'm trying to do this all from my phone and looking like I'm failing. Lol.

Thank you my fellow Bostonian.
My daughter is really enjoying the one I made for her this morning, i'm really jealous now though!
Paracord is generally discouraged as a suspension component. It is not really strong enough to handle the forces of a poorly hung hammock. And all hammocks get poorly hung at least once in their lives. Stay with a 30* angle below horizontal as slavishly as you can and you'll maximize your safety. Don't hang higher than you are willing to fall.
Save your money because if you think it has spiralled out of control... you ain't seen nothing yet.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
