    I'll be the only hanger...the rest use the tents. I think it is someones "law" that if I bring the big one it won't rain, and if I don't, it will.......

    If you can get away with 10 days and no rain in the Boundary Waters, you obviously have a pact with the devil!

    I never sweated the portages...
    Like I told the scouts we took up there (28 portages in 5 days) " you will paddle till your arms fall off, then portage till your leggs fall off. Repeat this cycle for 5 days and love every minute of it." We did and they did!
    Portages give you a break from paddling still water.

    Very extensive tarp site! A good reference to have in the bag of tricks. Made me think of origami at times......thanks!

    Hammock camper got hit 3 years ago in NJ

    A kayaker at Round Valley Recreational area in NJ got killed when lightning hit the tree that he was hanging his hammock from about 3 years ago.
