Have a look at the Frosts knot for attaching webbing to the end. To be lightweight you can make Dyneema soft shackles. I use whoopie slings but it does increase the tree spacing you need

If your after Amsteel, Mat at UKHammocks stocks it along with zingit. I've heard good things about the D12 as well, as for descender rings DD hammocks had/has them also climbing shops do them. I use / used paracord for tarp ridgelines but never for suspension. Hope that adds to the mix and helps!
I got some dyneema from ebay, 3mm, 13 metres for £3.50! So I got two lots, naturally.
The trees where we can are either very close together (like 7 foot) or very far apart (like tree straps + 5m of webbing) So I'll combine whoopies and marlin spike for my kit I think
Here I am faffing with 50 different methods for my hammock, and my Bloke is keeping shtum with his stock webbing and knots xD Simplicity eh. He's a tall bloke so doesn't mind me bringing (him carrying) extra biners and stuff to try..
