    Dangerbird 72" underquilt

Can anybody who has a 72" Dangerbird or Randy please advise,
do normal underquilts work with it?

I have quite a few incubators, would these work fine or do I need to buy another special underquilt if I order the 72".

Yes I was planning on a DIY IXUQ but I too was curious about the extra wide UQ for a 72

Since the Incubator is 77" long, you won't have a problem (Unless you're like 7' tall). You don't need insulation beyond your head or feet. Most people use a 2/3 UQ from their shoulders down to the back of their knees.

I am more concerned with width coverage than length with the 72".

Boomer I also have several 3/4 underquilts, but usually when we camp, weight is not as much of an issue as comfort, so these are generally reserved for warmer months.

My guess is that it will be like my Kammok or GT Double; it will come up the sides just enough for covering me. The TQ will come down over the rest. Adjustments with the bungee cords.

I've not heard of any UQ's going much wider than 45", unless someone wanted a custom one. Too hard to have 2 people in the hammock.

'more concerned with width'.....then def. look into a Leigh 5-50 when she gets back from hiatus. It's 50 inches wide.....5 feet long...and rated to 0F.

I am wondering the same thing. I have a DB 72 on order and am thinking about this more and more as I wait for my number to come up. I emailed Adam at Hammock Gear to see what he thinks. I will let you know what I hear back and what I decide to do.

I have been reading up on hammock forums and seeing answers from other hammockers and I think I should be just fine with a standard width UQ
