That looks like an awesome place. Love the fire pit and chairs. Looks like someone spend some time setting up a great camp. Hopefully people will respect it and it will be there for a long time for people to enjoy.

Ive been passing it for the last year and finally got a chance to stay. Its pretty nice. Theres some trash from heavy use. Bean cans and what not. Why anyone would wanna pack bean cans around is beyond me. Wish they would have packed them out though. Gonna look into the local trail cleanup/restoration for that area since Im there so much.

Looks like your pooch was having a blast too...and likes getting her picture taken.

Some of the things people used to say/ask about my dogs (was a K9 handler for 12 years) would blow my mind. A couple of my favorites:

Lady: "Do you guys get them hooked on drugs to teach them how to find them?"
Me: "Yes, ma'am, we do. But this is an explosive detector dog so we had to put a block of C4 us his @$$ to get him to find bombs."

Guy in a parking garage....as I am looking at him...while I'm wearing a suit and tie, jacket off, pistol exposed: "Is that your seeing-eye dog?"
    Me: "Yes, Sir, it is."
Guy: "How did you lose your sight?"
Me: "Born this way.....say, friend, can you help me find my car?"
Guy: "Sure, what kind is it and what color?"

    People

Thanks again for sharing your report and pics!

I watched a young dude one time carry a duffle bag up a trail in GSMNP for over 8 miles with his tent and camping gear in it slung over his shoulders, and he also had a gallon jug (glass) of whiskey in it for him and his 2 buds to drink,,but when I saw him,,he was cleaning out all his gear,,cause he dropped the duffle bag,,and broke the gallon of whiskey all over his gear! What a mess. And anymore,,I see bean cans and dinty more beef stew cans all over the GSMNP..more than I can pack out, but I still try and pack some of it out. sucks any more!

i particularly like the Z-lite pad attached to the dog- going to steal that idea and let the Husky carry her own bed on her pack. Nice pics!!

Its funn to see her navigate being a few inches wider...hah! I get more flack from people about her carrying things. They think its my stuff. No way, we both carry our own. She likes "jobs". Loves it when I break out her pack.....shes definitely an adventure dog!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!
