    Finally Placed My Order

Thanks for all the helpful information. Over the weekend, I finally placed my order for a Claytor hammock after a lot of research. Tom responded very quickly. Also ordered the material to modify the suspension. I'm only 5'9" 155# so I went with the lighter Expedition. I liked the Claytor because of the double layered bottom will allow me to use a pad. Also, liked the side or top entry versus the bottom entry, which I think would have eventually annoyed me.

Surprisingly, when my wife saw photos of hammocks on the web, she was suddenly interested in the possibility of backpacking. Now if she could just get over the cat hole thing, everything would be a go.

Anyway can't wait to get the hammock so I can try it out!

For what its worth... the "cat hole thing" is a stumbling block for many a lady. If she is really interested, you might look for a book titled "How to **** in the Woods". (That's the title folks, don't yell at me.) It has a chapter in it called "How to pee without getting your boots wet" noted for women only. It is written by a woman and really has some very helpful information in it.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

My wife carries a "Lady J" a funnel of sorts that allows her to pee standing up without squatting. Created for cross country skiers originally. I still haven't talked her into peeing side by side with me, and I remind her that she cannot write her name in the snow as proficiently as I can. (smile)

She carries it with her canoeing, and it makes her life much easier.

    Arrow Not decided yet.....

After much research, my opinion is the Clark North America is a better choice over the Claytor

I hear you thinking........ Yes, No, what?
