i just made some diy beaks and am wondering the best way to anchor them?
do you just use a loop of line to hook over the peg?
or do you use a short guy-line on a prusik to make it adjustable?

I prefer to have some adjustability, as the tarp and beak may not be at the same height every time, or there is a root or big stone in the way of where a fixed loop would have me plant the stake.
My own preference is to have a length of cord tied to the corner. I'll form a marlin spike hitch and drop it over the stake and then plant the stake. If I have to adjust then I can move the stake, plant it, and reform the marlin spike hitch and drop it over the moved stake.
The prusik solution you mention is the next step up in adjustability, and I'd probably do that if I ever remembered to put the prusiks on the cord.
