South Eastern Illinois Hang

Anyone interested in a south eastern Illinois hang?

Where did you have in mind? Does GOG allow hammocks?

I don't know if GOG allows hammocks or not. There are several opportunities to camp in south eastern Illinois. Anything from hiking in and camping to pulling up in your car and camping.
Kinda want to see what other people have in mind.

I can't say anything specific about the Shawnee National Forest. However, in my experience, National Forests are very liberal about primitive camping, and I would be surprised to see anything explicit against hanging.

I've been in Illinois nearly 9 years and have yet to visit that area, not for lack of interest, just time.

I might be interested in a hang in that area. I have only been out once in my hammock, but am an avid camper. I am looking forward to getting to some group hangs. I think it would do me some good to see how others setup. I am not real famillar with the area so I will follow this thread and just see if it kicks off.

Thom, the biggest thing for me would be the dates of the hang. April gets real busy but I really want to get in another Spring hang.

I'm looking forward to doing my first HF hang. It's a bit of a haul, but I'd make the trip if the timing works out.
