Just bought WBBB need assistance with the carabiners

    Hi all,
I'm new to hammock camping and placed an order for the War Bonnet 1.7 double layer Blackbird with the Webbing suspension and it's on it's way.

Saw the insturction video and it suggests that I use a carabiner for this supension. My question is what's the correct carabiner to buy?
I'm 5' 11" 215 lbs. Dont want to get the wrong one and hurt myself while out in the woods.

    thanks for your advice.

Any climbing rated carabiner will work. Make sure it is a climbing rated biner! You should be able to find these at a local sporting goods store such as EMS or REI. Or you can go to Jacks R Better and get a Dutch Clip.

Biners are just a slight bit quicker and easier.
Dutch Clips are lighter and cooler.

I like the biners that Warbonnet and Trek Light sell. I like the smooth rounded edges and the weight is only like 0.7 ounces. They've held me up for many years and believe me, I'm not a skinny kid. For box store biners, I still like the C.A.M.P. Nanos. They are light and fairly inexpensive at around $6-$7 per.
    Trust nobody!

Really? I think my Dutch clips are much faster, but we would probably be talking hundredths of a second lol

I say the biners are faster only because I don't have to 'hook' the webbing into the biners like I do with the Clips and I don't have to focus any attention on being sure to position the Clips in an optimal manner. I agree, the difference in setup/takedown between Clips and biners is very small for a well practiced person. But for someone just getting started, biners are more familiar. So, IMO only, the biners get the edge.

Biners still lack the "cool" factor though. Dutch owns that category with suspension hardware!!!

I use the c.a.m.p nano on my wbbb. I use the warbonnet little carabiner's on my eno and some cheap oval rei ones on my woven hammock. I like the wire gate ones best they seem to do less damage to the straps just my opinion.
