If your interested in purchasing a new pack Id look into a ULA. I had Chris custom size an xtra small for my wife who is 5ft. Its a circuit and she loves it. Says it fits her like a glove and she finds it very comfortable to carry. Plus in good condition ULA packs hold their value so once he grows out of it you may be able to sell it at a decent price.
