    I'm a bit heavier and taller(6'3" 225#) and I have both.

I prefer the lay of the 1.7 and it doesn't fit around me as tight(good for side sleeper). I can move easier since I'm a night time wrestler. Overall, it just feels better to me.

But if I'm racking up miles or doing an accent, I will be in the 1.1.

It sounds like you're preferential toward the 1.7 if you could only have one, correct? I ask because I'm about 25lbs more than you and a few inches taller and was curious about comfort, given your opinion that the 1.1 had some stretch.
I know hammock selection is very subjective, but add 25lbs to me and another few inches and I know I would prefer the 1.7 if I had to have just the one.

At 6'1" and 215, I find the 1.7 dbl to be perfect for me. I do sleep mostly on my back, though. I bought the wife, who is 5'1" (and I am not telling anything else cause I like all of my anatomy just where it is), a 1.1 dbl and tried it out. I do prefer the 1.7 for myself. Doubt it will ever be the case where i take the 1.1 and leave the other at home.

See, I'm the opposite. I'm 6'-6" tall, 225 and I find my DL 1.1 way more comfortable than my DL 1.7. I always liked the 1.7, but thought it to be a little too stiff. I can get a much better lay in my 1.1, and the material feels so much better. Just another testament to the fact that one hammock does not fit all...

I just spent two full nights in my new 1.1 and really like it just as much as the 1.7. I believe a night to night test in both of them some weekend in the backyard is in order.

I don't know which one I like more. I'm leaning ever so slightly toward the 1.1 though.

The good thing is I have two pieces of equipment that I enjoy , will get a lifetime of use out of and have no regrets.

I have a few commercial hammocks including a WBBB and I've made a few of my own. I think hammocks are just like beds. Some folks like a spongy soft one and others like it rock hard. And then there's Goldilocks

I like my hammocks just a bit to the soft side of medium.
