Where can I read more about this? I've seen pictures floating around the forums, but no instructions or anything that a beginner could understand.

So, I remove the stock treehuggers, and use some cord to replace it, and tie a cinch buckle at the end. Then I just use some strap that's looped at one end to wrap around the tree, come through that loop, and into the buckle, where I can adjust slack. Does that sound right? Where do the carabiners come into play?

I've gotten the snakeskin situation under control, and I'm getting the the hang (no pun intended) of setting up the hammock. I'm still working on getting the rainfly setup nicely though.

You finessed the biner by putting the strap through the loop. Where the biner comes in with some setups is clipped to that loop. Then you don't feed the strap through the loop, you push it in through the biner's gate. A bit more convenience because you can completely undo the suspension from the tree without disconnecting anything else.

Ah, that makes sense. Is there anywhere around here to find step-by-step directions to set it up like this? I'd be too paranoid to just go at it, even if it seems so simple.
