Whats your input on braided mason line?

So, on ebay I bought 4 100' rolls of mason braided line for 5 bucks free shipping. I have read a little about this stuff and seems like I got a good deal. I plan on using this stuff for tie outs to stakes, but what about as a ridge line, or a continual one? I have a Chinook and shes BIG. Any thoughts about this set up? The mason line seems "firm" with no "play"....what says you?
    Cheers

Some people have reported some stretch with mason's line, I use it for tie outs on my tarp with shock cord tensioners. I haven't had any trouble with it yet. Although I do use a Zing-It Ridgeline. I'd be more worried about abrassion of the line against the trees with Mason's line.

I use Mason line with 3/32" shock cord for trap tieouts. I also use it for my structural ridgeline. I experienced a very small amout of stretch, but none once the cord was broken in. I found I can bury in loops and seal them with a few drops of super glue.

I saw the stuff you found, (#18 yellow right?) Looking for some myself. Put small lightweight straps around the tree, Mini S-Biner, then hook the mason's line to the S-Biner. Done.
Or... You have 400 feet, use it up... LOL

What a deal!! I like mason line! I like cord You can splice it too...if you have a bit of time to kill Yes, you can use it as your ridge line. Makes great prusiks too.

Mason line is a very adequate inexpensive line for rigging, it's quite tough actually and yes it's stretchy. It's not very easy to splice but you can still make nice finished end loops if you're a mind to. What's not to like.

Forgot to mention that I do use Mason's line for prussics to attach my tarp to the CRL.

Got me some 1" Gorilla Tape though...
You might wanna build a little stretch in if you use it for tarp guylines, someone snags it as they walk past it could rip a hole in your tarp...
