OK got the "bolt" inside the tent webbing(already was by accident on one end) and got it packed up in the original sack. That worked lot's better than what I was doing, but still seems a bit arduous compared to just strapping my JRB bars to the pack and having my hammock very quickly stuffed into a sil-nyl sack. But at least you can't leave them behind, I guess that is the big advantage. I think I would like to mod it so there is a "nipple" that fits through the webbing bar holes, and just very quickly pop them loose or back on, like with the JRB or GrizzBridge.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Thanks, that helps. I had only been able to find the directions for the newest model.

A-ha! When I replaced my original buckle suspension it meant I also removed the bolt or pin that went into the webbing loop and kept the cover from riding up. I knew that I always had to pull it down when I first set up, I just never realized why. I forgot to do it this time and that's why I tore it!

Now I know that I need to rig up a short loop of amsteel or shock cord to keep it taut so that this doesn't happen with the new cover I'm getting from a member here. Love this forum!

Gumbo and I are very happy with the results. Like you we lve the Chrylsalis! Most comfortable hammock EVAH!!
I don't know how I missed that thread, but you and Gumbo did a great job making those!!! What a great idea and your able to change your bottom insulation to what ever the weather is calling for at any given time.

I vote for this as it will open your options up.

Has anyone tried to sew a pad pocket inside the Chrysalis? I thought I may try to sew a pocket on the inside of the hammock to the webbing along the side. You would be able to slide the pad in from the end. Easy to slide in without the cover, but may be a PITA with the cover on.
