Not to be rude but it seems as though everyone else understood what the OP was saying / asking, except you! But you give nothing for us to help you in your confusion!

Cuben fiber is an ultra-lightweight fabric that was developed for the sailing industry, but is used for expensive but super-light backpacking gear as well. Including tarps.

Does anyone use the tarp tensioner on their cuben fiber tarp or are they not necessary.

I do not, I find that due too the no stretch property of the material I can get a very taught pitch without using tensioners! YMMV

    No problem!

I will say that I have seen many use some shock cord on their panel pulls on their cuben tarps (I myself have done this)! My reasoning was I felt that with a side wind slamming against the tarp with my hiking pole attached to the line's coming off the pullouts it was a missile waiting to launch! So what I did was use zing-it line (about 3ft or so) which attached to my hiking pole, then used a piece of shock cord down to the stake, this added a little give to the tarp when a hard wind blew at it! JMO, YMMV

I recently bought a cuben tarp from a board member. He cut the panel pulls off, but the reinforced anchor patches are still there.
Question: Has anyone taped panel pulls to the outside of a cuben fiber tarp? Or do the panel pulls have to go through the cuben and be taped on the inside?

My thought is to get some short pieces of webbing (maybe 6 inches) and tape them on as 1 inch loops. I would have 2 inches taped to the tarp at each side of the loop. I may have to bar tack the webbing to the underside of the tape first??

Another thought I have is to make the panel pulls from some tyvek strips. I think I could tape or glue 3-4 tyvek strips together(sort of laminated 6" strips) and that would be strong enough for panel pulls.
I really would appreciate hearing from you all since I don't want to experiment on my only piece of cuben gear.
The road to success is always under construction.
