Planning new Uq design. Need help!!!

So, I was walking through Walmart the other day, and noticed that they have relatively cheap duvets. The light bulb went on in my head "Underquilt, Underquilt, Underquilt", and I started conjuring up ways to make one. I figured the easiest way would be to buy a duvet, and make a cover for it out of nylon. Of course I have already figured that I need shock cord, channels on either side for the suspension to run through, and maybe a few Dutch Hooks to hang it. The problems I face now are dimensions. It needs to fit an HH Explorer Zip, and I would like it full length. I am wondering if the fact that I lay asym in the hammock would mean that the UQ must be the same shape as the hammock itself, or can I get away with a rectangular shape. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellow hangers.

a rectangle will work just make sure you have adequate length and width. you may have a little trouble with the side pull outs because they are more at your middle of your body rather above - when pulled out they tend to create a really wide hammock body causing the UQ to slip at least this was my experience. adding loops to the UQ which allow the side pull outs to run through and 'lock' the UQ in position will help you. a set of triangle-thingies will also help keep the UQ in place.
