I honestly think that those people who are the trail blazers in any given area tend to be very creative and talented, afterall, they are the ones inventing all this stuff that eventually gets marketed by some big gear store, and after a few years, everyone thinks the stuff was just always around.

So I'm with you Neo....tons of creativity oozing from the hangin' crowd.
    This is my signature.

I wonder how long it is going to be before we see a MSR, Sierra Designs, TNF, or some other huge manufactor come out with their "own" hammock.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".

They are all waiting for Hennesy's patents to expire, I'm sure. It really sucks the way Hennesey has treated our Warbonnet, but he correctly sees sharks in the water from established companies. The US population is aging, hammock camping is going to really take off I predict.

there are other hammocks out there that folks can use(Speer, ENO,Claytor, treklight). No need to wait for anything.

Hennesey has a patent on his bottom entry, he's also challenging anyone who attempts to duplicate his assymetrical design, which is what appeals to most. I've never used a Speer, but looking at pictures of bannana shaped people inside them doesn't give me much hope they'd be comfortable for me. This is all much ado about nothing anyway, except maybe for gram counters, 'cause the bridge this is probably going to be the future of hammocking.

Speer hammocks IMO are a lot more comfortable than a HH
