Dangerbird 54 in Today-- 14.25 ounces

Hey folks, so it came in today, my Dangerbird 54 and at 14.25 ounces i am pleased.

It did take some getting use to with the zipper, it is a single track so the zipper do not cross over one another and you can not use the overcover with the nossenum.

Sorry it was a short video, rain was coming and it was getting dark. Will do a better review this weekend as section hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Zipper - #3 coil with double tab sliders
Zipper Pulls - knotted 1/16th cord
Zipper Hoods - Momentum ripstop
Ridgeline Organizer - Noseeum
Foot Peak Bag - Noseeum
Head Peak Bag - Momentum
Suspension - Dynaglide with Dutch Whoopie Hooks & short tree huggers
Ridgeline - Dynaglide

Thank you again papasmurf, mine again is a stripped down version of a dangerbird with lighter materials, and smaller bag covers. Papa Smurf did an excellant job.

Nice video!!! Thanks for posting it up for all of us to drool over. Something I have not seen in other videos is the view of it occupied. I like to see how flat the lay is and how roomy it is too. Do you use the ASYM tie outs at all? I would love to see it all tied out and open - Hennessy style

Hey guys, I did not do the classic hennessy tieouts with shock chord, sorry, i had bad weather rolling in and did not want to get caught out there. Anyways, it lays really well, and the 1.1 is awesome. I do wish i went smaller length wise, as at 114 still seems alittle long, and 54 inch wide is plenty wide enough.

To compare to my Hennessy Explorer Ultralight, the zippers are smaller, the material is thinner, and it does take some getting use to the zippers, so you have to be careful with that.The zippers are on one track. They come together at each end, and the "hoods" on either end are stretchable but you have to pull the hoods back to get to the zippers, and can get frustrating, but I am pleased, just like every other hammock, theres a learning curve. The m50 is like silk, just like TQ/BQ, and looks steller with black, on gray. The side tie outs are great, and the 4 sided rideline organizer is great, i can't stand my HH rideline organizer. The lay it is compared to the WBBB 1.1 with the footbox. I will give more detail after my 45 mile hike this weekend.

And my dog is a Red Merle Aussie, named Whiskey, shes 2, and great dogs to hike with, and couldn't be happier with the choice of dog.

I think Yukon can chime in as well, with his thoughts might help others as well. For me it is comfortable, and for him he has a different story. I layed in mine for about 45 mins and found my sweet spot.

A measure of how efficiently Randy manages his / your weather cover, and what the tradeoffs are.

There are four Clark hammock models for which a weather cover is an option. It adds about 71/2 oz to the hammock weight, depending on the model, the zippers being independent. Just 2 ounces of that may be in the fabric.

Why so much? There's the answer to something OP comments on twice in the video and once in his writing: Zippers and zipper tape are heavy, and the heavier duty the zipper........Dream Hammock may have saved 5 oz on a single, lighter zipper.

(And the designer still has to decide if the bug net and weather cover will be independent. With Clark the weather cover is a cover to the bug net on some models and independent on others.)

This Clark owner knows all hammocks should have end hoods, just like yours. What else are they for,to collect and channel rain?
