I'm planning on heating the earth's crust into a broth of liquid, hot magma with my convection oven array unless I am paid one million billion dollars....

Funny how evil geniuses tend to spill the beans right BEFORE their invention is completed, thus giving time for someone to come spoil it before it is finished...

    ha HA!

Just wanted to give this thread little bump to remind those thrift store shoppers to be on the lookout.

Ummm, OK you are weird. You know they sell 'roasted beans'.

That said, I'm looking! I'm in the thrift shops almost daily trying to fill my home with new s--t.

Yeah, I look every time I go. I even printed the pics and keep them in the car so when I stop, I have something to compare. No luck yet.

I really appreciate the effort. As I said the ovens are a bit of a rarity.

BTW we have had a convection oven in our range for years. We can bake at 25 degrees under recommended temp and about 15 % quicker too. We use it every time we bake. They are cool.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

HC4u, just an update. I hit 4 resale shops last weekend looking for this thing, and no go. I am stopping at another 2 on Wednesday, so cross your fingers. These are like the holy grail! Too bad you don't need a bread maker or a VCR - they are crawling with those! I usually hit one shop a week, just haven't hit the right one yet.

    Have you tried Craig's list?

I've posted several ads on Craig's list with no luck.

I've got one of my roasting units up and running and it's awesome. I'll post some pics sometime in the future. A friend of mine, who is a local organic grower, is selling limited quantities of my coffee at the local farmer's market.

You can actually make a roaster from the bread machine and a heat gun, but the convection oven/stir crazy combos work better and are much more controllable. I'm starting to turn out some really awesome roasts.
