    Grand Trunk UL replacement

I carried a GT UL (with straps and dutch clips) in my day bag to any event I went to, (horse shows, family reunions, kids sports). it was a great way to chill out for an hour between games.
Yesterday it went Rrrrip when I sat in it,,

Is there something similar but slightly heavier?? in the same price range?
The GT was not ripp stop, and only a hemmed edge.
I want it with a self contained bag.
(no time to make one these days)

    Any idea's?

    Thanks,
    Slack

The price range of the gtul is hard to compete with.I think your best bet would be to buy another gtul and then find a pouch to attach yourself. I would follow the eno idea.

+1 on the price point of the GTUL. It is hard to beat when you can at times find them online for less than $15. My first one costed me more in suspension mods than the hammock itself, because I didn't do them myself.

I do recall reading multiple reviews on Amazon about the exact same thing happening to folks, but some went to the ground with a sore bumm or back. Due to that, I always take a few seconds to inspect mine before I hop in it. I also tend to make sure I'm not wearing something like jeans with rivets or the like to snag the material.

I saw a Beyer in the same price range at a discount sports store (Academy I think). I don't recall the specs, but I stopped and looked because it appeared to be a gathered end one versus the string versions they are so well known for.

Again, I'd probably just grab another GTUL. Heck, buy two and double layer them with whoopies for the purposes for which you appear to be using it!

I love my GTU's but since I received my BIAS Micro the UL's are being passed down to my son and friends. The micro is twice the price as a UL but it is twice as comfy and twice as nice. The micro is a 11' hammock and is lighter then the GTUL.
    More room plus lighter weight..

Warbonnet traveler comes to mind. Costs a little more but will last you longer than the GTUL.

+1 on the BIAS guys. Tell them what you want, they will make it.
I put an adjustable ridge line in mine that's removable with a nacrabiner for easy conversion to a swing type hammock.
