I've been eying the ENO Ember but the web site really doesn't give any real info. Like how cold can you take it down to? is it really two pounds? and what ever else you fine Hammock Forum folks have to say.

Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.
for that price I would get an UQ from one of the cottage guys here on the forum. I have one of LeighLo's 3/4 40* UQs and I love it.
If you don't try due to fear of failure you've already failed due to fear.
By looking at the pic on the web site, it doesn't look like it has that much loft. I have never used one, thought about getting 1, because I have an ENO SN and DN. But after reading a few reviews, thought I would save a little more money and get a down UQ.
I am sure someone has used one, and I think I saw a thread on here about them.
Here is one

I haven't seen this yet. It's interesting.
It's 35 ounces. The PeaPod is 38 ounces, but down filled and probably much warmer, but also twice as much money. It's basically a heavy-ish synthetic insulated sock. Probably has a market. Maybe Eno will start taking insulation more seriously and start releasing TQs and UQs?

I have an ember. It is heavy but it works really well. It is basically an impenetrable barrier that does an excellent job of retaining heat. There are two reviews on the forum that are well done. I have been in mine down to 36 (in boxers and socks) and I was hot . I wrap mine up around the hammock, it has clips to attach the ember to itself. I would flip it inside out in the morning to get rid of any condensation. As far as the cost is concerned; don't pay retail. I got mine for a little more than $60 off the list price.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Arson did a review video awhile back. here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmjhM...layer_embedded i'd save some money though and go with a DIY for way cheaper or a cottage vendor for similar price. just my $.02
For the kind of money for any of the UQ's I would find something else to use. And that's not mentioning the bulk and unnessary weight.
if it was only big enough to be a pod I'd have some interests....
This thing fell short of my expectations...I expected it to be worthless: it's not, but it still fell well short of being a worthy contender for my $.
