Wait. Between the two layers? I thought the layers were sewn together. Is it only sewn on one side, or are both sides open?

It is only open on the zipper side. And it is half sewn there.

Brandon leaves two gaps for inserting a pad. Go with the DL, you won't be disappointed...

I second Yukon's advise, DL is better as long as your not a gram weenie. I love the ability to use something in between the layers. It may only be a poncho liner to give some warmth.

    Dito That

New 1.7 dl for my son should be here this week. Have you ever laid in a hammock and wondered if the mosquitos were biting your back side. Kind of weird but the DL helps with that.

I used a wallyworld waffle foam pad many a times in my BB's until I could afford a UQ.

A pad works but a UQ is way more comfortable.

Picture is the pad being used in my wife's BB 1.0 double. (Brandon does not sell the 1.0 anymore)
