    Help with Underquit calculations

I used the UQ calculation spread sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...k5YTEltUkJiN2c

My material is all cut, my baffles are cut. I am now trying to do the lines....but I put in 8 baffles, and my lines come out to 7 baffles????

    My dimensions that I plugged in are: 8 baffles; 2.5"; 45"; 53"; 1"; 1"
    750 down; 15% overfill

When I started my first line of my inside material I went 9.13" to account for the 1" seam allowance, then I went 5.63 (or close to that) on every line in between. (I ended up being a little less than 1/2" off on one side) Oh well, I'll deal with that. But It is still only 7 baffles and not 8, so I don't know what my down weight should be for those 7 baffles?

I believe what is going on here is you will have 8 "tubes" with 7 pieces of noseeum being the baffles.

So do you have 7 baffles or 7 chambers?

If it is chambers then you need to do a bit of math to figure it out.

[(Width of chamber X length of chamber x Height of chamber)/FP] X 1.15 for your 15% overfill

This will give you the amount of down per chamber needed, roughly.

If you want a more precise number:

({[(Width of inner wall of chamber + Width of outer wall of chamber) X 2.5]/2}/FP) X 1.15

    Hopefully that makes sense.

Also the bottom of the spreadsheet tells you 1.24 oz of down per chamber, so round up to 1.25 for simplicity of math and we get 8.75oz of down total if you only have 7 chambers. Good luck, building UQs can be a bit confounding at times.

It's 7 chambers. I'll attempt to figure the math. The math side of my brain exploded earlier

If your UQ measurements are still the same you could adjust the number of baffles on the spreadsheet to give you the proper amount of down as well.

This way sounds much easier. So, do I put in the number of noseeum baffles or the number of chambers to get the correct amount? The calculations must have changed on the spreadsheet some where.

My guess is number of chambers. I'm uncertain at this point and can't check it as I'm currently mobile. But if you multiply the oz of down per chamber by number of chambers it should equal the total amount of down shown on the sheet.
