flat lay-possible with using a inflatable pad?

The only hammock I have had success with using an inflatable pad and laying flat is the Hennessey asym. However, with the bottom entry it was difficult to set up with an inflatable mattress inside the sleeping bag (Big Agnes system), so I switched to a Clark and a Claytor. I have not been able to reproduce the sleeping comfort of the Hennessey with the other two hammocks. Any solutions? because I really want to keep using the Clark.

That's interesting; maybe you're just not diagonal enough... I'm just over 6' and was uncomfortable in my HH. Something about the slope made my calves intermittently but constantly cramp. Now am 1000 percent more comfortable in my Speer and have tried Clark with similar great results.

m a y b e consider the zipper mod. for your hennessy (assuming you still have it).
I also have the Clark and being small as i am i haven't been able to get the same confort as in my hh, though very close without pad.

The length, width, and sag the hammock is hung with have a lot to do with how comfortable it is. Many people that start out with Hennessy Hammocks don't understand how to hang other hammocks such that they get enough sag for it to be as comfortable as it is capable of being. Usually they attach them too low on the trees and don't have enough sag. My rule of thumb is to attach about shoulder high at a 12 foot span, head high at a 15 foot span, and as high as I can reach at an 18 foot span.

one thing about the farther the span the more stretch ,the more stretch the more comfortable hang for me personally i prefer 14 to 17 foot span in my claytor jungle with a full length military ultra lite thermarestneo

Try hanging it a little tighter (less sag) & use the air mat partly inflated.
I've been using mine that way for better than a couple years.

Ditto, to what slowhike says. With my ENO type hammock I hang it with very little sag and have the pad paritally inflated and lay comfortable. If you let it fully inflate it will balloon up on you and be very uncomfortable. I normally fully inflate it then lay in and open the valve til I have the right amount of air in the pad .

Yep, that's a good way to get it "just right"!
