    bowline hitch on Claytor/spider wire

How well will a boline hitch hold on a claytor?

I've setup my Claytor with a ridgline and replaced the orig ropes. I used a boline hitch through the sewn end of the hammock and am hoping it will hold through the night. I have taken a short nap in the hammock, and haven't had any issues yet.

I put a figure 8 in each end of the boline just in case it does slip.

Tonight will be my first night camping with it. I have to remember to tie some drip lines on it to. I got some new spider wire and am very excited, it seems like great stuff.

bowlines are rated for life support if I understand correctly if they are tied properly. The are not the loop knot of choice for many climbers that I know but that is just because others can be somewhat easier tied. I could be wrong about the rating, but I have used them for years to hang some pretty heavy stuff in pretty crowded environments. We're talking stage scenery here not children's mobiles....
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
