I saw this in a convenience store and grabbed one. Sounds like a waste of money but I was wondering if anyone had tried them.

Directions: Simply slide the SuperBand on your wrist or ankle and enjoy a bug-free day. Each wristband last up to 200 hours after seal is broken.

Phillipine (sic) Geraniol Oil 15%
Indonesian Lemongrass Oil 5%
Citronella Oil 2%

Inert Ingredients
Polyethylene 78%

I'm willing to try anything to beat back the skeeters. They love me. And by the way, DEET and me don't get along.

I was wondering if anyone had tried them.

The manufacturer of those handed out samples a couple of years ago at Trail Days. I snagged a couple to try out.

When I finally got around to using them a couple of months later, I didn't think they helped very much. The area of effect is quite small indeed. I know I got bitten by a mosquito on the leg while wearing one on my wrist.

Maybe I got a dud or they've improved since then, but my experience with them wasn't very good.

I've not tried them in the woods ... but I did carry several with me to Indonesia and Thailand last year. I couldn't find a benefit from them at all while moving, but that's not unexpected in my opinion. However when I used them at night while sleeping ... that was the real test and I'm pretty sure the skeeters found them an interesting condiment for old man meat!

I got rather well chewed over using these at night in a factory dormitory.

I've used the BugBand ones that are all Geraniol.
Seems to work OK for me.
Same company makes a granular sawdust looking material to spread around on the ground for yards, playgrounds, etc.
I take some of it and put it around on the ground around my hammock site as well.

Had to find something. Can't use anything with DEET anymore- If it gets on my neck or higher, my lips go numb!

In Florida it provides a convenient handle for the mosquitos to carry you away with.

I seen those at the dollar store the other day.. While looking for a cheap ground pad for my feet under hammock.

My best defense is Deet.. bought few bottles of the Permethin spray. hope it works better. I hat skeeters!!!
