I had leaks, but I'm also not completely sure it wasn't water running down the line. If you have the optional tie-outs, they definitely leak...

    I'd seal it.

Got my Tad Pole today. Ordered it on Sunday, April 29th and it arrived today, May 3rd. Amazingly fast service and it seem very well made.

I know I couldn't believe it was my tarp when it arrived. It is so small and light. My amazement was only exceeded by the fact I was able to get it the stuff sack. I have used it in three rain showers this winter in the back yard
(I'm in central California) for a total of about 1 1/4 inches of rain, not a lot but steady with no leaks. The customer service is great, everyone here trying to sell items should learn from them. Good luck with your tarp

I didn't seam seal my Tadpole for about a year. I never experienced a really heavy rain storm under it when I was camping, but I did get quite a few light to mild showers. I figured it was water tight after experiencing no leaks under light/mild rain. After about a year, I decided to string it up in the back yard when I knew a bad storm was coming, and the ridgeline did leak.

Long story short -- I'd recommend seam sealing it. It's probably the best tarp at the price points, so you might as well make it bombproof to boot.
