I like the Peck's Brook area, that is where I stay most of my trips up Mt. Greylock. There are a few nice places to hang behind the shelter over by the Brook and not very many nice tenting spots, so it is a good place for a few hammockers.
We noticed that on one of our days hike to the area. Put it on our 'to do' list for hang/hikes.

How is the parking down off West Mt. Rd? Safe enough? The maps say it is a designated overnight area...if we park there it will be the first time we haven't left my car up at Bascom.

It should be just fine. I have not parked there before. I either park at then end of Hopper Rd. or on Notch Rd for the bellows pipe trail or Pattison Rd for the AT.

I have not heard of anyone having issues with their parked vehicles. YMMV.

Excellent. I have never heard of anyone having trouble parking overnight there. Good to hear the same from a 'local' hiker. Thank you.

It's a small world. I just ordered a set of Whoopies today to convert my son's Hennessy for a trip to Greylock, also on the 19th. We have a group of 20 Boy Scouts and about 10 adults going, so we will be at the campground.

The group I'm going with will be summiting Mt. Williams then hiking along the ridge to Greylock.

Thanks Stu. Can't wait to get back out and my son will appreciate the easy set up with his new Whoopies!
